Newswriter/Producer

Job Function Produce daily newscasts and fill-in, when needed, on Newscasts & Cut‑Ins Craft compelling news stories using words, pictures, sound, and graphics Excellent writing skills and copy‑editing ability needed Work closely with producers and managers in the control room with the ability to add to the editorial process in a breaking and live news environment Build a compelling newscast with high production value in a competitive environment Generate story ideas and actively participate in editorial meetings Exhibit strong editorial judgment, effective communication, and critical thinking skills Understand & use multi‑platform tools such as social media & our OTT platforms to reach viewers and deliver news Other duties and projects as assigned Knowledge and Skill Requirements At least five years’ experience, preferably in a top 20 market Newswriting, line producing, editing, and storytelling experience Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of personnel to create compelling content Maintain a steadfast commitment to accuracy and fairness Ability to multi‑task and thrive in a dynamic, quickly changing environment is essential Strong Tease/Promo writing Experience with Avid iNEWS, and Grass Valley Edius System a plus Available to work any shift as assigned in a 24/7 newsroom, including weekends & overnights Hiring Salary Range: $76,596.00 - $104,832.00.
