About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Columbus, Ohio, 43210!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of high acuity Medical-Surgical Telemetry level or higher required. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Oncology experience preferred, but not required. Description: James Clinical Resource Unit requires staff with experience in Oncology and Medical-Surgical Telemetry. The unit focuses on infection prevention protocols and patient safety. Float to Medical-Surgical and Progressive Care Unit Oncology units will be required. Units are specialized by cancer diagnosis, including those for Acute Leukemia, Hematology, Medical Oncology, Gynecological Oncology, Urology, and Colorectal Surgical Oncology. Staffing ratios in the Progressive Care Unit are 1:3, potentially 1:4 with mixed acuity. The Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit ideally operates at 1:4 but can be 1:5. Self-scheduling requests will be collected to accommodate preferred schedules. Orientation involves five shifts of bedside training. Shift assignments are reviewed every four weeks, based on staffing needs. Candidates should have experience with the following: - Accessing and managing ports. - Administration of chemotherapy. - BiPAP/CPAP management. - Blood product administration. - Central line care and management. - Telemetry monitoring. - Non-invasive airway management. - Management of dysrhythmias and cardiac drips. - PICC line management. - Tracheostomy care and management. All candidates must complete required fingerprinting processes promptly post-hire. References from professional supervisors are necessary for submission. Education must be from an accredited nursing program.
