Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) Position Overview: UME Preparatory Academy is seeking a qualified and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to support the delivery of speech and language services to students across multiple campuses. Under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), the SLPA will provide direct therapy, assist with screenings, and help document progress toward student communication goals. Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) Position Overview: UME Preparatory Academy is seeking a qualified and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to support the delivery of speech and language services to students across multiple campuses. Under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), the SLPA will provide direct therapy, assist with screenings, and help document progress toward student communication goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language services as prescribed by the supervising SLP.
- Work with individual students or small groups to address speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
- Prepare therapy materials and maintain student records.
- Assist with data collection and progress monitoring for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Communicate regularly with the supervising SLP regarding student progress and concerns.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all FERPA, IDEA, and district policies.
- Support a positive learning environment that encourages communication growth and student participation.
- Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- Current Texas licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA).
- Experience working with children in an educational or clinical setting preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel between campuses if assigned to multiple locations.
- School-based setting; may serve multiple campuses within the district.
- May require lifting and assisting students with physical needs.
- Regular interaction with students, staff, and families.
