Job Objective Seeking an analytical and detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in Property Accounting within the oil and gas industry. Skilled in managing capital projects, handling complex transactions including acquisitions and divestitures, ensuring GAAP compliance, and delivering accurate internal reporting. Proficient in SAP, with a strong focus on accuracy, cross‑functional collaboration, operational support, and continuous problem solving and innovation. Essential Job Responsibilities Prepare schedules, book entries for, review, and analyze Property Accounting aspects including capital projects, all PPE accounts, asset retirement obligations of oil and gas properties, depreciation and depletion of oil and gas properties, depreciation of fixed assets, impairment of oil and gas properties, reserves reporting, inventory (materials and storage), acquisitions and divestitures. Perform monthly and quarterly close tasks associated with the above duties. Responsible for timely preparation and distribution of monthly internal financial deliverables, quarterly external financial deliverables, and analysis/review of these deliverables for accuracy and reasonableness. Translate and appropriately account for complex/technical accounting transactions regarding acquisitions and divestitures and beyond. Prepare special reports and complete special projects by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information for various groups throughout the company, including executives, technical employees, and accountants. Work with field personnel to provide additional information as needed for special projects. Understand both internal and external reporting implications and the interworking of both internal and external reporting tools. Interpret requests from the Operations team and translate them into accounting, and vice versa. Assist with the annual financial statement audits related to Property Accounting areas. Troubleshoot, research, and develop solutions within SAP and various reporting tools. Research and resolve issues brought forth by cross‑departmental teams. Other Job Responsibilities Manage competing priorities and ad hoc requests while meeting internal and external reporting deadlines. Perform tasks with a strong focus on accuracy and precision. Maintain employee confidence and corporate assets by keeping information confidential. Continuously update technical expertise through workshops, professional reading, networking, and active participation in professional organizations. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Cross‑Functional Teamwork Develop proficiency and knowledge of external financial reporting lead, staff accountants, and internal financial reporting analysts positions to improve intra‑departmental productivity. Qualifications Five years minimum experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically Property Accounting, with public accounting experience preferred. Ability to identify and analyze accounting and property reporting questions and develop responsive solutions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public. Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities without close supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate financial information into an organized and presentable manner. Outstanding administrative and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); strong working knowledge of SAP preferred. Educational Requirements Required: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from an accredited four‑year university or college. Preferred: Master’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business.
