Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer (Experienced — Fiber Optics/Telecom) About the Role We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a background in fiber optic cables, passive fiber components, or telecom/datacenter hardware to lead product design and drive improvements across our fiber product line. You'll take ownership of projects from concept through production, working closely with sales, manufacturing, and customers. What You'll Do Design fiber optic and passive component enclosures/hardware in SolidWorks, including sheet metal and plastic parts Create 2D drawings and manufacturing/end-user documentation Confirm new product designs and prototypes meet customer requirements and are free of reliability issues Apply industry knowledge of fiber cables, connectors, or passive components to guide design decisions and troubleshoot field issues Build and test prototypes, including 3D-printed parts Create and maintain work instructions and incoming inspection documentation Identify cost-reduction opportunities and drive product quality improvements Support marketing campaigns and product launches with datasheet and marketing material creation Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, production, and engineering; mentor junior engineers as needed Visit customers, attend trade shows, and stay current on industry trends and competitor offerings What You Need B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) with strong SolidWorks experience 3+ years of experience designing products in fiber optics, passive fiber components, or telecom/datacenter hardware Working knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., Telcordia, GR-326, IEC fiber optic standards) a plus Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Clear written and verbal communication The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job. Pay Transparency: The starting annual salary for this opportunity ranges from $95,000-$110,000. Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance.
