About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice Chair for Clinical Operations and Quality to provide strategic leadership in all aspects of departmental clinical operations, quality, safety, access, and performance. The successful candidate will work closely with the Department Chair and health system leadership to ensure the alignment of clinical strategy, operational execution, financial stewardship, and the academic mission. This role is pivotal in leading departmental quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives, and in guiding the development and implementation of clinical strategy, growth initiatives, and new care models. The Vice Chair will also be responsible for supervising and supporting medical directors and physician leaders, as well as serving as the department's physician representative on various committees. Applicants must have an MD or DO, be board certified in Family Medicine or a related primary care specialty, and be eligible for medical licensure in Virginia. A minimum of progressive leadership experience in clinical operations, quality improvement, or service line leadership, preferably in academic medicine, is required. The role demands a proven ability to work effectively in dyad or matrix leadership models, use data to drive improvement, and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility. Preferred qualifications include experience in value-based care, population health, ambulatory transformation, or enterprise clinical operations, and a track record of regional, national, or scholarly leadership in clinical operations or quality.
