COMMERCIAL SALES LEAD (STARLINK MOBILE)
SpaceX is developing a new satellite-to-mobile network to bring ubiquitous cellular connectivity worldwide via the Starlink constellation. We are partnering with telecommunication companies around the world to bring this service directly from satellites to mobile phones, with the goal of providing coverage anywhere a phone can see the sky. Starlink was designed to connect the disconnected, and this new product will greatly expand that mission by extending coverage to billions of existing cellular devices. The applications range from connecting hikers in national parks, emergency responders, rural communities, remote sensors and devices, and people in emergency situations. Combined with new state‑of‑the‑art satellite technologies, exclusive spectrum, and Starship’s unprecedented payload capacity to low‑Earth orbit in a single launch, Starlink Mobile’s next generation service will deliver unparalleled performance to cell phones and IoT devices – helping to close coverage gaps and ultimately eliminate mobile dead zones around the world. The Commercial Sales team is hiring a Sales Lead to support our team’s efforts to expand Starlink Mobile globally.RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engage in customer inquiries, qualify leads, and conduct pre‑sales discussions Manage the sales processes for a subset of customers and be responsible for customer follow ups, provision of necessary documentation (proposals, NDAs, etc) and ensuring account status in our customer database Own and implement specific sales process improvement projects that enable exponential sales growth by collaborating with stakeholders across engineering, business, and regulatory teams Create compelling communications materials in support of our efforts to increase access to space and our position as an industry leader Support the team in their sales efforts including customer onsite visits, offsite meetings, conferences, and other sales events Ability to adapt and work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirementsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or business discipline 2+ years of enterprise sales experience, pre‑sales engineering, operations, or experience working in the telecommunications industryPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience with NTN and satellite‑based telecommunications Independently motivated professional with a demonstrated track record of project ownership Bias toward action and automation Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills, preferably in a team environment Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly with senior business leaders Demonstrated success driving tangible impact/influencing within a broader organization Strong knowledge of Starlink’s network infrastructure, launch vehicles, and the telecommunications industry Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly detail oriented, diligent, and hard working with excellent customer interface skillsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position is based in Hawthorne, CA and requires being onsite – remote work not considered Willingness to travel to customer sites, other SpaceX locations, and events as needed Available to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to support closing sales opportunitiesCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range: Sales Operations Lead: $90,000 - $125,000 per year Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees accrue paid sick leave pursuant to Company policy which satisfies or exceeds the accrual, carryover, and use requirements of the law.ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
