Distribution Supervisor

Operations Supervisor – Warehouse The Operations Supervisor directs and coordinates activities of the warehouse associates and all operations related to the receipt, storage, and distribution of product. Schedule 1st Shift: 8:30am-5:30pm Monday - Friday Responsibilities Ensures timely and accurate shipments of orders from the distribution center. Effectively utilizes and ensures compliance with BD’s inventory control and warehouse management systems. Ensures departmental procedures, SOPs and work instructions are updated and training provided to associates as required; ensures all associates follow C2C training guidelines. Plans work schedules and assigns duties to maintain adequate staffing levels; ensures activities are performed effectively and is able to handle fluctuating workloads. Reviews work throughout the process and at completion to ensure it has been performed accurately and efficiently. Evaluates employee performance; prepares performance appraisals and maintains work records and reports that include employees’ time and inspection results. Conducts staff meetings to relay general information or address specific topics such as safety, quality, or policy changes. Recommends or initiates personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, disciplinary measures; resolves personnel problems or refers them to higher-level management. Must be able to work a flexible shift and weekends as business requirements instruct. Responsible for following and monitoring/correcting associates in Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in the SOPs and work instructions. Must ensure a safety-first environment and be able to work diligently to maintain safe working conditions and adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injuries and illnesses. Maintains regular and reliable attendance at work. Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree preferred. Associate’s degree from a two‑year college or technical school and two to three years of related experience. High school diploma or GED and four to five years of related work experience. Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to operate material handling equipment (MHE). Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of inventory and warehouse management systems. Ability to perform in a metrics‑driven environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership skills. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Knowledge of principles and methods for distribution of product. Proficient in using computer hardware/software to convey and retrieve information. Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation. Physical Demands The position requires walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, crouching, reaching, pushing/pulling, grasping, listening, twisting, lifting (occasionally over 50 lbs), and exposure to moderate to loud noise. Lifting over 50 lbs may be required in some areas but not all. Employees may be exposed to fumes/airborne particles. The job may involve frequent use of hands and fingers, repetitive motion, and occasional climbing.
