We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Batesville, IN .As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing projects aligned with our philosophy of Lean manufacturing. This position is responsible for identifying and implementing improvements in process, materials, and equipment. This position is also responsible for the quality of products as they are passed on to the customer.How You'll be RewardedBatesville is a family. You will be part of a family of highly committed associates who are passionate about our company, committed to our customers and excited about our future.The salary range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, skills, experience, and location.In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based bonuses or other forms of incentive compensation.IMMEDIATE ELIGIBILITY – Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance, as well as prescription coverage, short-term disability, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and more.Generous 401K Matching ProgramPaid time offOpportunities for development and advancementWhat You'll DoPerforms routine assignments in the entry level of the Professional Career BandDevelops competence by performing structured work assignmentsUses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problemsReceives instruction, guidance and direction from othersDesign, develop, and implement improvements to control usage and reduce scrap.Ensure product flow is optimized by reducing WIP and improving productivityDrive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles throughout the organization using value stream mapping and other lean manufacturing tools such as 5s, kanban, and visual managementSupport implementation of corrective actions to solve production/quality issuesApplies statistical process control (SPC) methods and quality design and control tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, DOE, etc.) for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changesGenerates risk assessment, engineering requirements, cost estimates, schedules and works with manufacturing to implement new product/process development projects.Perform system reviews to ensure quality system policies, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and job instructions are being used and followed and assist in establishing or improving process flows for standard workOther duties may be assignedWhat You'll BringBachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in engineering or related field is preferredOne to three years related engineering experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in manufacturing environmentNice to HavesExperience in AutoCAD and Info View preferredDirect experience in applicable industry is preferredExperience with Statistical Software Packages preferredFirm grasp of Lean/Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies preferredExcellent communication and problem-solving skills requiredConcentration specific knowledge/experience as required for assigned areaPhysical RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, the physical demands listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee.
