Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing. This position requires a strong foundation in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, specifically in the interpretation of dysrhythmias and participation in Rapid Response and Code teams.

Contract Details

Contract Length: 16-week contracts available through February 27, 2027.
Shift: 12-hour Night shifts, from 18:45 to 07:15.
RTO Policy: Maximum of 7 days for auto offers, with call-offs or additional RTO potentially leading to cancellation.
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is required.

Essential Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in a fast-paced Medical-Surgical and Telemetry unit.
Administer IV therapy, including blood product administration and management of central and peripheral lines.
Conduct cardiac monitoring and respond effectively to emergency situations.
Perform respiratory care, including the use of nasal cannulas and non-invasive airway management.
Adhere to isolation precautions and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Float to areas holding Medical-Surgical patients as necessary, demonstrating a strong med-surg background.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
First-time travelers are welcomed.
Required certifications include BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) and NIH (National Institutes of Health).
Experience and proficiency in telemetry and cardiac monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in oncology care is preferred.
Certifications such as OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) and Chemo Administration are a plus.

Unit and Technology

Patient Ratios: Target of 1:6, managing 36 beds.
Unit Orientation: 24 hours of orientation is provided.
Unit Systems: Familiarity with Epic and Pyxis is beneficial.
Dress Code: Navy scrubs are required; scrubs are not provided.
