Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Registered Nurse – Surgical Progressive Care

Schedule: Nights, 3x12s; weekend coverage required (weekdays and some weekends); rotating holidays.

Assignment Details: Estimated patient ratio: 1:3; census: ~26 daily.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year PCU experience required.
• Travel experience is required.
• Cardiac/telemetry experience preferred.
• Must have the ability to start IVs and manage cardiac telemetry-level patients.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS.
• Epic experience required for charting.
• Additional relevant clinical skills include central/PICC line care, arterial line management, chest tube care, wound care, dysrhythmia recognition, post-op cardiac care, blood product administration, non-invasive ventilation/HFNC, and trach care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a surgical progressive care/stepdown unit for vascular and cardiac surgery patients.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry data.
• Assist with the administration of medications and IV therapies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Conduct patient assessments and implement appropriate interventions.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and health management.

Compliance / Notes:

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required. RNs must have valid compact or state license at the time of submission. Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager/director. Background checks and credentialing will be conducted with strict timelines for submission.
