Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Registered Nurse – Hematology

Shift: 12-hour D/N only (rotating; assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period).

Daily census: ~22; 24 beds.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience (must be current and consistent within the last 12 months).
• At least 1 year PCU/stepdown experience.
• Oncology experience preferred but not required.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS.
• Preferred: ONS Chemo Certification, NIHSS.
• Clinical skills: telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, and feeding tube management.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to adult and geriatric patients with acute leukemia.
• Administer IV therapies, blood products, and monitor vital signs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Implement infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention strategies.
• Utilize telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Engage in patient education regarding treatment plans and care options.

Compliance / Notes

Orientation: 72 hours. Pre-approved time off required within submission. Strict compliance deadline is Tuesday prior to start. Urgent fingerprinting required immediately after booking; delays may risk cancellation.
