Senior Accountant

The Opportunity Fishbowl is looking for a self-motivated Accountant to join our growing Finance team. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you’ll play an active role across multiple areas of our accounting operations — from reconciliations and journal entries to payroll support and ad hoc analysis. Responsibilities Perform monthly account reconciliations and review general ledger accounts Prepare and post journal entries with accuracy and appropriate documentation Apply GAAP principles to revenue recognition processes Calculate and maintain deferred revenue schedules and related balances Manage accounts receivable reconciliation and support billing processes, including invoice generation, payment application, and aging report review Manage expense reimbursements and reconcile company credit cards Conduct regular analysis of employee expenditures and flag variances Deliver ad hoc reporting and financial analyses as requested Provide backup support for Payroll and Accounts Payable functions Support additional responsibilities as the team and business evolve Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 3+ years of relevant accounting experience 1+ year of hands-on Excel experience in a professional setting 1+ year working with NetSuite and QuickBooks Online (QBO) 1+ year working with Salesforce Strong understanding of GAAP, particularly as it relates to revenue recognition Flex PTO policy with no accrual needed allowing employees the time they need away from work Multiple healthcare options to choose from including PPO and HSA options with matching company contributions to an employee’s HSA account Paid parental leave 401K matching E-Verify Fishbowl participates in the Electronic Employment Verification Program.
