Under the general supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, the Facilities Coordinator II serves as an advanced-level facilities professional responsible for coordinating daily facilities operations while performing complex building maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, inspections, and project support across all Westcliff University campuses. The Facilities Coordinator II serves as the department's primary technical resource by providing guidance and support to Facilities Coordinator I, coordinating complex maintenance activities, and assisting with vendor and contractor oversight.

The Facilities Coordinator II supplements and provides operational backup to the Facilities Supervisor by assisting with work prioritization, scheduling, project coordination, quality assurance, and maintaining continuity of operations during supervisor absences. While remaining actively engaged in hands-on maintenance and operational support, this position exercises greater independent judgment in diagnosing facility issues, recommending corrective actions, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted campus operations.

Essential Job Functions

• Coordinate and perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of building systems, equipment, furniture, fixtures, and campus infrastructure.
• Diagnose complex facility issues involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, hardware, mechanical systems, and building components; recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Serve as a technical resource for Facilities Coordinator I by providing guidance, troubleshooting assistance, mentoring, and technical support.
• Coordinate and perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of building systems, equipment, furniture, fixtures, and campus infrastructure.
• Diagnose complex facility issues involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, hardware, mechanical systems, and building components; recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Serve as a technical resource for Facilities Coordinator I by providing guidance, troubleshooting assistance, mentoring, and technical support.
• Assist the Facilities Supervisor with prioritizing daily work assignments, coordinating maintenance activities, and maintaining operational continuity.
• Provide operational leadership and departmental coverage during Facilities Supervisor absences while operating within established authority.
• Coordinate vendors, contractors, building management, and service providers to ensure quality workmanship and timely completion of assigned work.
• Perform quality inspections of completed maintenance and contractor work to verify compliance with University standards.
• Coordinate and support campus improvement projects, renovations, equipment installations, and space modifications.
• Perform routine and advanced preventive maintenance inspections and develop recommendations to
• improve equipment reliability and building performance.
• Utilize the University's facilities management/work order system to prioritize, assign (when directed), monitor, and close work requests while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Coordinate campus moves, furniture installations, event support, and operational readiness activities.
• Assist with inventory management, procurement recommendations, equipment replacement planning, and maintenance material sourcing.
• Monitor building conditions and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, equipment reliability, safety, and customer service.
• Support building controls, and other building technologies where applicable.
• Participate in emergency response activities, after-hours service calls, campus incidents, and operational recovery efforts.
• Support Facilities Supervisor with vendor performance evaluations, project coordination, preventive maintenance planning, and operational reporting.
• Assist with training on departmental procedures, safety practices, maintenance standards, and work order processes.
• Promote compliance with regulations, University policies, safety standards, and departmental procedures.
• Provide operational support across multiple campuses as required.
• Demonstrate professionalism and exceptional customer service while interacting with students, faculty, staff, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that improve departmental efficiency, customer service, and campus operations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum four (4) years of progressively responsible facilities maintenance, building operations,
• construction, property management, or related experience.
• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, carpentry, drywall, and general building maintenance.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving complex maintenance issues with minimal supervision.
• Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, maintenance projects, and operational activities.
• Working knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and work order management systems.
• Valid California driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel between University campuses.
• Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple assignments while exercising sound independent judgment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and work order request systems.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding maintenance work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or vocational training in Facilities Management, Construction Management,
• Building Maintenance, or related field.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible facilities experience.
• Experience within higher education, healthcare, commercial office, or institutional facilities.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• EPA Section 608 certification.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Experience supporting multi-campus operations.
