HR Generalist

Salary: USD28 - USD34 per hour A well-established nonprofit organization in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role will support day-to-day HR operations with a strong focus on leave of absence (LOA) administration, employee relations, and workplace investigations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, knowledgeable in California employment laws, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Paycom is highly preferred. Relevant HR experience with LOA administration, investigations, and Paycom appears frequently in candidate profiles and HR-related documents. Responsibilities Administer employee leave programs including FMLA, CFRA, ADA, PDL, and other protected leaves. Manage the interactive process and coordinate accommodations with employees and managers. Conduct employee relations investigations, gather documentation, interview involved parties, and provide recommendations. Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and California labor law compliance. Support employee onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and policy administration. Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation. Partner with payroll and benefits teams regarding leave, benefits, and employee status changes. Assist with recruiting, employee engagement initiatives, and special HR projects. Generate HR reports and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. #J-18808-Ljbffr
