Client Account Specialist

Position Summary This role is responsible for creating, analyzing, managing, and delivering comprehensive reports of bank and insurance company owned life insurance (BOLI & ICOLI) policies for an assigned group of clients. The analyst works closely with stakeholders and the Carrier Data Coordinator to ensure accuracy and relevance of the reports. Key responsibilities include data analysis, report development, trend analysis and quality control. Core Responsibilities Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the reporting needs for each client. Research and resolve any issues specific to each client concerning products, policy values, crediting rates and other information in reports delivered. Prepare, review and deliver all client reporting, performing quality‑control checks and reporting client satisfaction to the supervisor and Relationship Manager. Handle large volumes of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) with necessary sensitivity. Understand the differences and similarities among general account, separate account and hybrid account insurance policies, including separate account BOLI/ICOLI and stable‑value features. Read and interpret life insurance policy and related document provisions that may impact policy performance. Apply accounting concepts, tax rules, regulatory and GAAP standards that affect BOLI/ICOLI reporting and policy decisions. Gather and analyze data from various sources to identify trends and draw conclusions for each client’s portfolio. Develop processes and methodologies for regular yield analysis and portfolio change identification. Perform financial calculations in Microsoft Excel (IRR, VLOOKUP, etc.) and create ad‑hoc schedules and reports based on client requests. Maintain knowledge of proprietary BOLI/ICOLI administration systems and assist in implementing regulatory requirements. Collaborate with business lines within the Newport team, share information, and assist in setting department standards, processes and procedures. Travel up to 5% as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or a related field. 3‑5 years of total experience within the banking or insurance industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced MS Office skills, especially in Excel; experience with Crystal Reports is a plus. Life insurance license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months. In‑depth knowledge of accounting principles – preferred. Awareness of employment fraud.
