This role plays a critical part in ensuring continuity of instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment during teacher absences. The ideal candidate is flexible, proactive, and committed to supporting scholar learning and school operations while contributing to a safe, structured, and respectful school environment. Legacy Charter School is a high-performing public charter school serving approximately 468 scholars in Kindergarten through 8th grade in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood. Our team is dedicated to building a strong, joyful learning environment where scholars are supported academically, socially, and emotionally. About the Role The Guest Teacher provides daily instructional coverage in the absence of a classroom teacher, ensuring that learning continues in a structured and productive environment. This role involves implementing provided lesson plans, managing classroom routines, and maintaining a safe and respectful atmosphere aligned with Legacy’s core values. When not covering a classroom, the Guest Teacher supports school-wide operations, including supervision duties and administrative tasks, helping ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the school. This role is ideal for an educator who is adaptable, organized, and committed to supporting scholar success in a fast-paced school environment.
