Details Cardiac stepdown unit located within a Heart Hospital with a significant cardiac patient population 55-bed unit with a 1:4 patient ratio Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:30-07:00) with option of 36 or 48 hours weekly Rotating weekend coverage as needed Floating required to like units within scope based on facility needs No on-call requirements Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending compact accepted if obtained prior to start BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS and CPI preferred 2 years of RN experience preferred, will consider 1 years Cardiovascular experience required Epic charting experience preferred Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and telemetry monitoring required Experience with cardiac drip management and heparin protocols Experience with central and peripheral line care, IV therapy, and phlebotomy Preferred skills include chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, wound care, IV insulin protocols, and pre/post cardiac cath and surgery care Additional Information Provide nursing care for cardiac stepdown patients including monitoring, medication administration, and post-procedural care Brief unit orientation provided for floating assignments Scrub color: any (no logos) First-time travelers accepted Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; locals not accepted No travel pairs or groups accepted American Traveler Job ID P-749626.
