Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to identify patients' emotional, social, and environmental strengths and challenges, with an emphasis on their substance use issues and treatment needs.

• Collaboratively develop and implement individualized treatment plans that utilize appropriate social work interventions, engaging patients and their families throughout the process.

• Work closely with the healthcare team to facilitate effective discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition from inpatient care to outpatient services, and addressing any post-discharge needs.

• Provide education and counseling to patients and families on coping mechanisms, management strategies for ongoing challenges, and resources available for support.

• Utilize various therapeutic modalities, including crisis intervention and individual, group, and family therapies, depending on the needs of the patient.

• Act as a consultant and resource for other staff, providing training and guidance on best practices in psychosocial care related to detox and substance use treatment.

• Participate in an on-call rotation to address after-hours patient needs and clinical concerns.

• Engage in community outreach programs, raising awareness about substance use and recovery resources available for cancer survivors and other vulnerable populations.

• Present at educational conferences, sharing expertise and insights on psychosocial interventions and their importance in holistic care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on patients undergoing detoxification from substance use disorders, providing support tailored to address their unique psychosocial needs. You will engage with a diverse range of patients, including those dealing with co-occurring mental health issues, ensuring a comprehensive approach to treatment. Your expertise in addressing both the psychological and social aspects of addiction will be central to helping patients achieve long-term recovery and improved quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) is required; Master’s Degree strongly preferred.

• Current licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey is mandatory.

This role offers a competitive annual salary in the range of USD 70,000 – 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
