Academic Scholar - Pediatric Pulmonologist; Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Position Title: Academic Scholar‑Pediatric Pulmonologist; Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor The Department of Pediatrics in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo (UB) is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Pediatric Pulmonologist to join a dynamic and growing Division of Pediatric Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine. This is an academic faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments. Division & Program Highlights Multidisciplinary team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, research coordinators, dietitian, and social worker. Advanced clinical capabilities: flexible and rigid bronchoscopy, interventional pulmonary function testing, high-resolution CT, genetic and molecular testing. Complex disease management: severe therapy‑resistant asthma, chronic lung disease of prematurity, neuromuscular related respiratory failure, pulmonary complications of systemic diseases. Advanced therapeutic interventions: mechanical ventilation management, airway clearance therapies, critical and multidisciplinary care. Co‑management in pediatric intensive care units with coordination to cardiology, ENT, genetics, and gastroenterology. Long‑term care planning for medically complex children. Cystic Fibrosis Program (Leadership Opportunity) Opportunity to lead and further develop a highly established Pediatric CF Center. Accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Active participant in the Therapeutics Development Network (TDN). Leadership opportunities include program growth, clinical trials expansion, quality improvement, and regional/national collaboration. Clinical Responsibilities Provide inpatient and outpatient pediatric pulmonology care. Participate in consult services (PICU, NICU, general pediatrics). Manage conditions such as cystic fibrosis, asthma, BPD, neuromuscular disease, and sleep disorders. Perform flexible and advanced bronchoscopy. Participate in multidisciplinary clinics. Academic & Research Opportunities Faculty appointment with protected academic time. Participation in clinical trials and outcomes research. Collaboration across pulmonary, allergy/immunology, neonatology, and critical care. Mentorship of trainees. Teaching Responsibilities Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
