About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Research to join its senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be a trusted strategic partner, providing leadership and operational oversight to advance the company's research, innovation, and economic development mission. This critical role involves strengthening research centers and institutes, expanding partnerships, and enhancing research infrastructure. The AVPR will be instrumental in positioning the company for success in large, multi-institutional research initiatives and in fostering engagement with national laboratories, academic institutions, and industry partners. Applicants must have an earned doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant discipline, with a minimum of 6 years' experience, and a preference for those with 10 years' of leadership experience in multidisciplinary research, innovation, and economic development. The role requires a proven track record in leading large, complex research initiatives, managing research programs, and developing strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate will have experience in technology commercialization, and a strong commitment to the land-grant mission. The AVPR will be expected to work effectively across diverse disciplines, support research excellence at all funding scales, and help elevate the company's research enterprise to be recognized for excellence, innovation, and economic impact.
