Portfolio Manager (New York City)

Company Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) Location Brooklyn, NY Summary RNDC is looking for a rockstar Portfolio Manager to oversee the development and management of the fine wine divisions to achieve company sales and profit objectives. Responsibilities Establishes, recommends, and implements strategies, objectives, policies, and plans for the company's wine sales program, coordinating statewide chain objectives. Develops and administers the budget for the sales program. Evaluates and controls performance relative to plan. Responsible for the realization of division objectives for sales and revenues. Creates and utilizes comprehensive sales plans that analyze competitive trends, gains, and other activities to devise effective counter strategies and tactics. Provides current information on trends and new products within and outside the current portfolio, e.g., scores, tasting results. Travels to sales territories statewide to monitor field activities and gain perspective of current market conditions; develops and maintains customer relationships within the marketplace. Interacts with suppliers in the market and provides updates on product successes and possible future opportunities. Plans and develops annual sales forecasts by product line and region, and plans and develops various aspects of sales meetings. Executes and participates in various meetings of the sales program. Recommends advertising campaigns and performance incentive programs for the sales department. Analyzes past sales performance data to develop and initiate strategies for improvement. Engages in more difficult negotiations (as support to sales representatives) to develop new business and resolve the more critical problem situations affecting the sales program. Possesses and operates a motor vehicle to access customer accounts for delivery, promotion, and efficient and prompt sales and other key activities. What you bring to RNDC Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred; five or more years of related experience with an alcoholic beverage wholesaler or supplier and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires a current, valid state driver's license. Ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements as defined by the company. Alcohol Beverage Commission (ABC) License, as required by the state (e.g., TABC License - Texas). Bonus if you bring Bachelor's degree Previous experience in the wine and spirits industry WSET certifications Compensation The salary generally starts at $125,000 up to $135,000, and is a combination of base salary plus monthly earned commissions if applicable. This compensation information is a good faith estimate and provided in accordance with New York's state law. Similar positions located outside this jurisdiction may not necessarily receive the same compensation.
