About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President, Strategy & Business Development to spearhead the identification, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of growth opportunities in the dynamic sports media landscape. This senior leadership role is pivotal in expanding the company's reach, revenue, and relevance. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a robust pipeline of strategic commercial opportunities, including non-traditional distribution and carriage arrangements, direct-to-consumer growth, content and rights partnerships, and strategic alliances. A key aspect of the role is deal origination and execution, requiring a proven track record in sourcing and closing complex transactions. The VP will also be tasked with leading deal teams, post-close performance tracking, and maintaining strong relationships with industry stakeholders. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in business development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity, and a background in sports, broadcasting, media, or entertainment. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is required, along with advanced financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills. The role demands a leader with a strong network of senior relationships in the sports and media ecosystem, as well as the ability to influence and collaborate across various functions. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to pressure-test financial models, build business cases, and present investment-grade recommendations to C-suite executives and boards. Experience in management consulting or investment banking, particularly with media, sports, or telecommunications clients, is preferred.
