Senior Property Accountant

Senior Property Accountant We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role is responsible for overseeing the full‑cycle accounting of a portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strong collaboration with property management and asset management teams. Key Responsibilities Manage full‑cycle property accounting for assigned portfolio Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Oversee CAM, operating expense, and real estate tax reconciliations Review lease abstracts and ensure accurate rent billing and revenue recognition Prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations, and account analyses Assist with budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis Coordinate with auditors and support year‑end audits Mentor junior accounting staff and review their work Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred) 5+ years of property accounting experience (commercial or residential) Strong knowledge of GAAP and property management accounting practices Experience with property management systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or similar) Advanced Excel skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines independently Seniority Level Mid‑Senior level Employment Type Full‑time Job Function Accounting/Auditing #J-18808-Ljbffr Tidal Recruiting
