Employment Litigation Attorney

Job Overview
A law firm seeks an experienced employment litigation attorney in New York City. The ideal candidate will manage complex cases from inception through settlement, bringing a business-minded approach to each matter. This role offers opportunities for leadership and business development, supported by mentorship and firm resources.
Duties
- Manage and litigate employment defense matters in state and federal court.
- Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and discovery motions.
- Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
- Develop and execute case strategy with clients and partners.
- Handle government agency investigations and administrative proceedings.
- Manage discovery, including document review and e-discovery.
- Attend mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
- Advise clients on employment practices and risk mitigation.
- Provide regular case updates and strategic counsel.
- Participate in business development activities.
Requirements
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Current membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Minimum 7 years of employment litigation experience, preferably in defense.
- Experience managing cases through trial, mediation, or arbitration.
- Familiarity with California and federal employment laws.
- Experience with wage and hour, discrimination, and wrongful termination matters.
- Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
Education
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Certifications
- Membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
Skills
- Excellent research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Self-motivated and able to manage a demanding caseload.
- Professional communication style with colleagues and clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
