Employment Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced employment litigation attorney in New York City. The ideal candidate will manage complex cases from inception through settlement, bringing a business-minded approach to each matter. Duties

• Manage and litigate employment defense matters in state and federal court.
• Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and discovery motions.
• Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
• Develop and execute case strategy with clients and partners.
• Handle government agency investigations and administrative proceedings.
• Manage discovery, including document review and e-discovery.
• Attend mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
• Advise clients on employment practices and risk mitigation.
• Provide regular case updates and strategic counsel.
• Participate in business development activities.

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Current membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
• Minimum 7 years of employment litigation experience, preferably in defense.
• Experience managing cases through trial, mediation, or arbitration.
• Familiarity with California and federal employment laws.
• Experience with wage and hour, discrimination, and wrongful termination matters.
• Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment.

Education

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
