Benefits Senior Accountant

Kforce's client in Tampa, FL is seeking a Benefits Senior Accountant to support accounting and financial reporting related to employee benefit programs. This role is responsible for preparing reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial analysis while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations related to employee benefit plans
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Analyze benefit-related expenses, liabilities, and payroll transactions
• Reconcile vendor invoices, benefit funding activities, and related accounts
• Assist with financial reporting, audits, and compliance requirements
• Partner with Payroll, HR, Benefits, and Finance teams to resolve accounting issues and ensure data accuracy
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and benefit expense analysis
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Knowledge of payroll, compensation, or benefits-related accounting
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• CPA certification or CPA candidate
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, or NetSuite
• Experience supporting employee benefit plans, payroll accounting, or compensation programs
• Audit and financial reporting experience
