The Prince George's County Government Office of Homeland Security (OHS) is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a temporary 1,000 Hour Human Resources Analyst 1G position, grade G18 , within its Administration Division . About the Position
This is entry-level professional and administrative work performed exclusively within the Administration Division. Incumbent provides pertinent assistance in support of the human resources management functions such as classification and compensation, recruitment and examination, employee relations, training, and employee benefits and pensions within the Office of Homeland Security. Work is characterized by Personnel Law, Administrative Procedure, collective bargaining agreement interpretation and adherence to policy and procedure. Incumbent works under close supervision of the Human Resources Manager.
About the Agency The Office of Homeland Security (OHS) was developed as a result of legislation passed in 2003. This new agency incorporated critical emergency response entities that were previously part of other agencies. Public Safety Communications (PSC), which included all County 9-1-1, emergency dispatch and radio system support, had been part of the Office of Information Technology and Communications (OITC). The Emergency Management Division (EM) was within the Fire/EMS Department. EM and PSC were combined under the leadership of the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Public Safety/Director of Homeland Security, forming the Office of Homeland Security. The legislation and resulting changes to the Charter, spelled out the separate and distinct missions assigned to EM and PSC.

Examples of Work
- Ensures that all personnel actions that include request to hire, create, reallocate, promotions, demotions, abolishment, intra/inter departmental transfers and separation packages are assembled in proper order and electronically retained for record.
- Utilizes, compiles and calculates numerical data to prepare monthly statistical reports.
- Possesses full working knowledge of officer personal computer programs, including Word, Excel, SAP, KRONOS and ESS Systems.
- Assist with the monthly vacancy, staffing, FML, applicant tracking and detail statistical tracking reports that are complete, concise, and accurate.
- Receives and validates the submission of personnel information for the processing on all resignations, separations, and other personnel actions.
- Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with diverse groups, staff and the public in a manner that will ultimately result in the acceptance of findings, proposals, recommendations, and information exchange in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Prepares preliminary analysis of salary compensation data.
- Generates documents, letters, and memorandums.
- Provides prompt, accurate and consistent responses in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
