Job Summary:

Deliver exceptional therapeutic care by expertly using ionizing radiation as prescribed by radiation oncologists. This role involves preparing and administering radiation treatments with precision and compassion to support patient recovery.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Prepare treatment setups by ensuring all radiology tests and materials are ready for use.
• Interpret oncologist instructions to achieve accurate treatment outcomes.
• Arrange and prepare treatment rooms and position patients, providing clear instructions to ease anxiety and ensure cooperation.
• Utilize and create accessories for patient positioning, immobilization, shielding, and dose distribution.
• Operate simulator and linear accelerator equipment, performing dosimetry calculations and assisting with radiographic and CT scanning.
• Measure and document treatment parameters to ensure precise radiation delivery.
• Assess patient and family needs, including physical and psychosocial aspects, and communicate with relevant personnel as needed.
• Perform daily equipment warm-ups, machine testing, and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain and update patient charts regularly and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Operate computer systems related to treatment planning and delivery.

Education and Experience:

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and be graduates of an accredited Radiation Therapy program. Holding the R.T. (T) credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.

Licensure and Certifications:

Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification and be in good standing with ARRT credentials.
