General Manager - Pu'u O Hoku Ranch

Position Summary

Puʻu O Hōkū Ranch is a family owned 14,000-acre conservation and regenerativeworking ranch on the east end of Molokaʻi. The Ranch is managed to balance the FourC’s — Conservation, Culture, Commerce, and Community — through regenerativeagriculture, eco-tourism, and long-term land stewardship.Our operations include Organic & Biodynamic farming, native habitat restoration &conservation, hospitality and retreat programs, value-added crops (kava & bananas),and guided axis deer management. We aim to be a model of cultural and ecologicalsustainability — where visitors, staff, and community experience the living relationshipbetween people and land.

We are working to build a self-sufficient, regenerative land-based economy thatrestores ecosystems, supports local livelihoods, and sustains the Ranch’s operations—ecologically & financially—for generations to come.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Stewardship

• Lead implementation of the Ranch’s 100-Year Strategic Vision & Roadmap(2025–2125).
• Develop and maintain annual operational plans that support long-term goals inecology, economy, culture, and community.
• Balance the Four C’s in all decisions — ensuring that Conservation, Culture,Commerce, and Community evolve together sustainably.
• Oversee ecological restoration, renewable energy systems, and regenerativeland management programs.
• Build and maintain partnerships with conservation, education, and tourism organizations.

Eco-Tourism & Hospitality Development

• Oversee and expand the Ranch’s eco- and agro-tourism programs, including guest lodging, guided experiences, and retreats.
• Develop hospitality standards that reflect the Ranch’s values of sustainabilityand authenticity.
• Coordinate staff training in service, safety, cultural engagement, and environmental education.
• Support marketing, guest communication, and partnerships to strengthen theRanch’s reputation as a regenerative hospitality destination.

Agriculture & Resource Management

• Guide kava expansion and other regenerative agricultural ventures — focusing on soil health, agroforestry, and circular systems.
• Oversee guided axis deer hunts as both an ecological control measure and sustainable guest activity.
• Ensure all operations follow regenerative and conservation best practices.
• Monitor resource systems — water, power, infrastructure — and manage maintenance and improvement projects.

Community & Cultural Engagement

• Maintain strong relationships with the local Molokaʻi community, cultural practitioners, and neighboring landowners.
• Support educational programs, volunteer initiatives, and partnerships that connect visitors and residents to the Ranch’s mission.
• Foster a workplace culture that honors Hawaiian values, community wellbeing, and intergenerational knowledge transfer.

Financial & Operational Oversight

• Develop annual budgets, track progress toward financial sufficiency goals, and coordinate with the administrative office for reporting.

• Identify and develop new revenue opportunities aligned with the Ranch’s mission (education, workshops, farm products, cultural experiences).
• Lead staff in accountability, teamwork, and integrity across all departments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in hospitality management, eco-tourism, and regenerative land-based operations.
• Background in agriculture, land management, or conservation, ideally in islandor remote environments.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to motivate a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated commitment to regenerative principles, Hawaiian cultural values, and ecological stewardship.
• Financial literacy and experience with budgeting, reporting, and operational planning.
• Ability to work collaboratively with local community and diverse partners.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in hospitality, environmentalmanagement, or business administration preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in management
