Sterile Processing Technician

$1321.92/week – Job Summary:Processes and sterilizes surgical and hospital instruments and equipment to ensure safety and readiness for medical procedures. Manages the assembly of surgical instrument sets and supplies department with necessary patient care items.Responsibilities:Decontaminates and processes instruments, including compiling instrument sets, counting instruments, and recording counts.Operates sterilization equipment to sterilize instruments, trays, and basins using appropriate exposure and dry times.Prepares instruments for immediate use sterilization when required.Maintains a clean and organized department environment by daily cleaning of counters, sinks, autoclaves, and high disinfection surfaces.Performs weekly cleaning of autoclave chambers and routine diagnostic testing of sterilizing equipment.Assists with room turnover, terminal cleaning, and supply/instrument preparation for upcoming cases.Qualifications:High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Technical Degree preferred.Minimum of two years recent experience in sterile processing.Current Sterile Processing Technician certification preferred.Current BLS certification required.Ability to operate sterilization and diagnostic testing equipment accurately and safely.Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.Benefits & Growth:Opportunity to work in a comprehensive healthcare environment with ongoing professional development.Gain specialized skills in sterile processing and surgical instrumentation.Benefits Day 1 Medical, Dental, and Vision insuranceTravel reimbursement for assignmentsPaid sick leave and additional valuable benefitsAccess to our $1,000 Inspire a Friend Referral Program Why TactStaff?
