Bilingual Portuguese PhD Scientist for AI Safety [Remote]

Help improve the safety and reliability of advanced AI systems on specialized scientific topics in Portuguese. In this remote, hourly role, you will use PhD-level scientific expertise to evaluate and strengthen model handling of technical content. Prior AI or machine-learning experience is not required, and workflow training is provided. Key Responsibilities

• Create expert-level Portuguese prompts across specialized scientific subjects.
• Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate treatment of sensitive material.
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.

• Ongoing or completed PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related discipline, with sufficient depth to write prompts involving chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear subject areas.
• Native or near-native Portuguese fluency and business-level written English.
• Deep familiarity with current laboratory and computational methods in your specialty.
• Sound judgment regarding scientific safety and responsible treatment of dual-use information.

• Based in Portugal or elsewhere in Western Europe, though applicants in other locations are welcome.
• Chemistry-based radiological or nuclear expertise, including radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics.
• Demonstrated depth in a focused specialty, such as organic or inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, or genetics.
• Research or coursework in chemical safety and security, biosafety and biosecurity, or hazardous-materials handling.
• Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content.

• Remote, hourly engagement.

• $50 to $54 per hour.
