Heyl Royster is seeking highly motivated attorneys with 1-5 years of litigation experience to join our established toxic tort defense team. The ideal candidate will have experience with drafting critical motions, developing written discovery, taking and defending depositions, and participating in court proceedings. The position provides opportunity to work on complex, multi‑party litigation and immediate opportunity for meaningful litigation experience. Candidates should possess the ability to work productively in team settings. We understand that not everything happens as planned, but we are disciplined and flexible with a passion that keeps us moving forward toward success.ExpectationsJuris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school required.Active State of Illinois and/or Missouri Law license, in good standing.1-5 years' experience in insurance/personal injury defense, and/or toxic tort defense.Compensation and BenefitsThe range is $93,000 to $125,000. In addition to your salary, we have an incentive bonus plan for associates which provides for the possibility of additional monthly compensation. That Bonus Program for 2026 includes the potential for additional monthly compensation of $1,000, $1,500, $2,000 or $2,500 which could add up to $30,000 of additional annualized compensation above the base salary. We pay those bonus payments in the month after they are earned.
