The Accounting Clerk supports VLCM's day-to-day accounting operations by accurately processing transactions, maintaining records, and helping keep financial information organized and current. This role works closely with the Accounting team and other departments to support invoicing, accounts payable and receivable activities, reconciliations, reporting, and general accounting administration. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working with accounting systems and spreadsheets, and responsive to internal and external requests. Prepare and process customer invoices and other billing-related transactions accurately and on time. Receive, review, enter, and manage vendor invoices and supporting documentation. Enter and maintain accounting data in the company's ERP/accounting system and related business systems. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including researching discrepancies and following up on open items. Review records and supporting documents to respond to internal and external accounting requests. Assist with account and transaction reconciliations and help identify and resolve discrepancies. Create and maintain reports, spreadsheets, and accounting documentation using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft 365 tools. Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation in accordance with company processes and retention practices. Provide regular updates to the Accounting team and communicate clearly with employees, customers, and vendors as needed. Support month-end and other periodic accounting activities as assigned. Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, data accuracy, and administrative efficiency. Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned. Dependable, accountable, responsive, and able to handle confidential financial information with discretion. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through. High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in accounting, finance, or business preferred. Previous accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related administrative experience preferred. Comfortable learning and working in ERP/accounting systems and other cloud-based business applications. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, especially Excel and Outlook; ability to work with spreadsheets, formulas, filters, and data entry. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a service-oriented approach to internal and external requests. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Experience in a high-growth or technology-related environment is helpful.
