PAYROLL SPECIALIST

Covenant Woods is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage bi-weekly payroll and support accounting operations. This position requires strong payroll systems expertise, accuracy, and the ability to troubleshoot and improve processes in collaboration with internal teams and software vendors.Schedule:Full-Time, Onsite, Monday-Friday (This position does not require weekends. When filling out application please mark yes to weekend availability to be considered.)Some Key ResponsibilitiesProcess bi-weekly payroll accurately and on timeMaintain and manage payroll and timekeeping systemsReview timecards, pay rates, benefits, and deductions for accuracyMonitor PTO balances and resolve payroll discrepanciesGenerate payroll reports and support reconciliations and auditsManage garnishments and respond to payroll-related inquiriesPartner with HR and leadership on payroll issuesWork with payroll software vendors to troubleshoot and ensure system accuracyProvide support with basic banking functions and accounting entriesAssist with month-end close and other projects as neededPost customer payments daily in a separate software systemProcess check and cash deposits dailyCreate weekly/monthly reconciliationsAll other duties as assignedQualificationsSeveral years of payroll processing experience required (healthcare or shift-based payroll preferred)Strong experience with payroll systems (Paycom a plus)Ability to review and validate payroll system setup and calculationsExperience troubleshooting system issues and working with software support teamsStrong Excel skills requiredExcellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlinesSolid understanding of payroll and basic accounting principlesEffective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyCovenant Woods recognizes that our continued success is thanks to our employees.
