Additive Manufacturing TechnicianReports To: Production Coordinator/Director of Additive ManufacturingRole Requirements: The Production Coordinator for Additive Manufacturing oversees the configuration and retrieval of metal builds, equipment upkeep, and the execution of fabrication workflows in an AS9100 certified facility. Primary duties include master production scheduling and the alignment of downstream activities such as thermal treatment, machining, and final logistics. This individual ensures customer delivery targets are met through effective resource prioritization and seamless communication across engineering, quality, and supply chain partners.Duties and Responsibilities: Production scheduling across multiple LPBF systems. Coordination of post-processing operations including stress relief, HIP, EDM, machining, inspection, and shipping. Managing production priorities and customer delivery commitments. First Article Inspection documentation and customer quality packages. Material and process traceability. Nonconformance tracking and corrective actions. Support for AS9100 compliance, customer audits, and quality system improvements. Support for America Makes / JAQG implementation activities. Coordination between engineering, production, quality, suppliers, and customers. Setup, operate and maintain metal AM L-PBF Machines. Monitor and record operational information such as functional issues, material consumption rates and build completion dates. Troubleshoot mechanical, optical laser, electrical, and build issues. Perform post print operations including powder and support removal, cleaning and part handling. Program and operate a vacuum furnace. Perform visual and dimensional inspections. Follow work orders, procedures, specifications, and test instructions. Provide process improvement feedback and implement solutions. Assist Engineers with setup and fabrication of new and current AM Machine.Competencies: Attention to detail, Flexible, Planning and Organizational Skills, Excellent communication skillsAccountabilities and Performance Measures: Deliver tasks on time and can work with minimal supervisionJob Requirements Qualifications: Required: Associates degree in an engineering/business discipline or equivalent/relevant experience. 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing operations environment. Experience working with basic shop tools and hand tools required. Understanding of machine tools (milling, lathe, drill presses, CNC) and heat treating. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Preferred: Basic ordering and shipping experience. 2 years or more of experience preferred in operating L-PBF AM equipment including SLM, EOS, and Concept Laser machines. Understanding of the L-PBF Additive Manufacturing and process parameter development. Experience in powder and support structure removal processes and equipment. Ability to use CAD, CAM, ERP and MES software to follow various processes. Working with Magics by Materialize Additive Manufacturing hardware specific software. Wire EDM experience.
