Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level II Trauma facility, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and a CA RN license.

Job Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 277 staffed beds,
• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU),
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM,
• 13-week assignment length,
• Required to work every other weekend,
• No on-call responsibilities,
• Floating required between like units and potentially sister facilities,
• Uses Epic charting system,

Job Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (must be in hand at time of submission),
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required,
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS required, NIHSS preferred,
• Level II Trauma facility experience required,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration,
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients,
• Experience managing patients with respiratory failure, pulmonary edema, and pulmonary embolism,
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips,
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and post-neurosurgery care,
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and neuromuscular blockade administration,
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required,

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to a diverse ICU patient population including cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, and renal cases,
• Collaborate with a care team supporting complex and multisystem patient needs,
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day),
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of consideration; post-offer requests may not be accommodated,
• Scrub color requirement: Royal Blue or Navy Blue for RNs,

• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility,
