Position Summary The Controller will oversee all aspects of the company's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement. This individual will own the month-end close process, oversee reporting to investors, partner directly with company leadership, and mentor the accounting team while fostering a collaborative and empowering environment. This role is ideal for a technically strong accounting professional with mortgage and lending industry experience who enjoys both strategic leadership and rolling up their sleeves to solve complex accounting challenges. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Prepare accurate financial statements and management reporting packages Oversee investor reporting and ensure timely, accurate financial information Manage accounting related to mortgage lending and securitization activities Maintain compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements Develop, document, and improve accounting policies and internal controls Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements across the accounting function Lead accounting system enhancements and software implementation initiatives Partner directly with the CFO and company partners on financial reporting and strategic initiatives Mentor and develop accounting staff while fostering accountability and professional growth Serve as a hands-on leader who is comfortable diving into complex accounting issues when needed Required Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA required) Progressive accounting leadership experience with recent Controller or Assistant Controller experience Strong background in the mortgage lending industry Experience with securitization accounting Demonstrated ownership of month-end close and financial reporting Experience preparing reporting packages for investors Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements Experience leading accounting software implementations Experience identifying and implementing accounting automation initiatives Advanced technical accounting skills with exceptional attention to detail #J-18808-Ljbffr Tarvos Talent
