Department Website: Job Description And Duties This position supports CDPH’s mission and strategic plan by performing critical and sensitive analytical and consultative work for the Financial Management Division (FMD), Infectious Disease, Emergency Response, Environmental Health (ID, ER, & EH) Unit. The Supervisor I is responsible on a day‑to‑day basis for the oversight of a team of Budget analysts on the preparation and maintenance of each division’s budget, analysis of budget change proposals, issue memos, legislation, and any other proposals, in addition to communicating with the Department of Finance and the Legislative Office on budgetary matters involving their assigned divisions. The incumbent oversees their direct reports and analyzes and verifies their complex analytical work. The Supervisor I consults and coordinates with CDPH program and Financial Management Division staff and makes recommendations to CDPH executive management. The incumbent works under the direction of the Supervisor II of the ID, ER, & EH Unit. In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027.
