Business Development Associate, Industrials Sector

Location Boston, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco (hybrid model) Position Overview L.E.K. Consulting seeks a Business Development Associate to join the U.S. Sales Enablement team focused on the Industrials sector. The role identifies and cultivates new client relationships, deepens engagement with current clients, and maintains an extensive knowledge base of industry trends. The Associate will manage outbound outreach, inbound leads, and support firmwide and practice-wide campaigns. Reporting to a Business Development Lead, the Associate supports L.E.K.’s go‑to‑market and sales enablement strategy. Responsibilities Execute business development outreach strategies aligned with sector and MD priorities. Develop deep understanding of the need in the Industrials sector and align outreach strategies. Proactively identify and prospect new accounts to grow the sales funnel. Contact and engage potential clients to establish rapport and cultivate MD opportunities. Align outreach with sector go‑to‑market initiatives to drive engagement and revenue. Maintain contact data quality in CRM, tracking client engagement, proposals, job transitions. Research industry and company trends to identify high‑potential accounts and prioritize accordingly. Develop outreach plans that penetrate senior leadership and C‑level executives. Track account prioritization and measure activity versus objectives. Manage firm‑wide conference registration. Follow up on opportunities from referrals, campaigns, networking, and events. Consistently achieve or exceed metrics (contacts, referrals, meetings, network activity, revenue). Support post‑project client engagement, performing quality reviews to ensure satisfaction and identify follow‑on sales opportunities. Qualifications Proven success in direct client contact management, prospecting, and new business development. Resourceful skills in leveraging data and insights to uncover opportunities in ambiguous situations. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, engaging senior executives. Strong teamwork and independent work skills. Proven ability to multi‑task and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Results‑oriented, self‑driven, innovative solutions to complex challenges. 0–4+ years in sales, business development, or marketing, preferably professional services or consulting. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus. Experience managing CRM (e.g., Salesforce) to manage pipelines. Knowledge of or experience in the Industrials sector preferred. Salary & Benefits Base salary $60,000–$70,000 annually; discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.
