IT Field Support Technician

IT Field TechnicianNorthStar Energy Services is hiring an IT Field Technician to support hardware, network, and end-user technology needs across our field operations.Responsibilities include:Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals at job sites and officesSet up, maintain, and troubleshoot network equipment (switches, routers, access points, structured cabling) at field/job sitesRack, stack, and cable network and server equipment in the field as neededRespond to and resolve IT support tickets remotely and on-site in a timely mannerImage, configure, and deploy new equipment; maintain accurate asset inventory and trackingSupport onboarding/offboarding of field employees (account setup, hardware provisioning, access/badge coordination)Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, VPN, hardwired) at remote sitesCoordinate with vendors (Dell, Insight, ISPs, etc.) on equipment orders, repairs, and warranty servicePerform routine site IT audits — inventory checks, cable management, equipment conditionDocument all work performed and maintain accurate records in the ticketing systemTravel to remote job sites as neededQualifications include:High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or IT certification (A+, Network+) preferred1–3 years of hands-on IT support or field technician experienceWorking knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing, kneeling, working in confined or outdoor spaces)Comfortable working in varying field/industrial site conditions, including heat and remote locationsValid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to travel by vehicle or air as neededWillingness to travel and stay on-site for extended periods (2–3 weeks at a time for Houston/Channelview-based candidates working West Texas assignments)Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervisionMust be able to pass a background check and drug screeningBenefits include:401(k) with immediate matching and vestingFully comprehensive benefits packages; Medical, Dental, VisionYour choice of PPO, HSA, FSAShort term and long term benefitsEmployee discounts on consumer goodsEqual Opportunity EmployerAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
