Machine Learning Engineer, 3D Perception

Salary: $153,200 - 183,800 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related technical field paired with 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or a masters degree with 1+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• We are looking for experience building machine learning models in computer vision, perception, robotics, autonomous systems, or a closely related area.
• We need strong Python and PyTorch programming skills, along with the ability to write maintainable, production-ready ML code.
• We expect experience training, assessing, and refining deep learning models on large-scale datasets.
• We value experience with image-based and/or 3D perception systems.
• We look for a solid grasp of deep learning architectures commonly applied to perception problems.
• We need experience diagnosing model behavior, interpreting performance metrics, and recommending practical enhancements.
• We want the ability to independently deliver complex machine learning work within clearly defined problem spaces.
• We expect experience collaborating across functions to integrate ML models into larger software platforms.
• We seek strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively as technical requirements evolve.

• We design, build, and improve machine learning models that support our perception systems.
• We own model development and delivery for defined perception challenges, from data preparation and training through evaluation and integration.
• We write production-quality Python and PyTorch code to enable scalable training, evaluation, and inference workflows.
• We analyze model performance, uncover failure modes, and troubleshoot issues to strengthen robustness, accuracy, and generalization.
• We develop and evaluate perception models using multi-modal sensor inputs, with a focus on camera-based and 3D perception.
• We collaborate with software engineers, infrastructure teams, and autonomy engineers to integrate models into production systems.
• We help improve training pipelines, data workflows, experimentation tools, and developer workflows to speed up iteration and deployment.
• We take part in model architecture discussions and contribute technical recommendations.
• We lead small technical efforts or model components with guidance from senior engineers.
• We mentor Machine Learning Engineer I teammates on implementation, experimentation, and ML best practices.
• We document technical work, evaluation findings, and design decisions to support knowledge sharing and maintainability.
