Senior Machine Learning Engineer 3D Perception

Salary: $177,300 - 212,800 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related technical field paired with 6+ years of industry experience, or a Masters degree with 3+ years, or a Ph.D. with 1+ years of experience.
• We need experience building production machine learning models for computer vision, perception, robotics, or autonomous systems.
• We require strong Python and PyTorch programming skills, including the ability to write production-ready ML code.
• We expect experience training, evaluating, and refining deep learning models on large-scale datasets.
• We need hands-on experience with image-based and/or 3D perception systems.
• We are seeking a solid understanding of deep learning architectures commonly used in perception applications.
• We value experience diagnosing model behavior, reviewing performance metrics, and improving reliability.
• We need the ability to turn ambiguous perception problems into practical machine learning solutions and work independently to deliver outcomes.
• We expect experience partnering across functions to integrate ML models into larger software platforms.
• Bonus: experience with autonomous driving or robotics perception systems.
• Bonus: experience with LiDAR, point clouds, sensor fusion, or other 3D perception methods.

• We design, build, and deploy production machine learning models that support our perception systems.
• We own end-to-end model development for defined perception areas, from data preparation and training through evaluation and deployment.
• We write high-quality ML code for scalable training, assessment, and inference pipelines.
• We examine model performance, pinpoint failure cases, and iterate to boost robustness, accuracy, and generalization across varied driving conditions.
• We develop and tune perception models using multi-modal sensor data, with a focus on camera-based and 3D perception systems.
• We collaborate with software, infrastructure, and autonomy teams to bring perception models into our production autonomy stack.
• We help improve training pipelines, data workflows, and tooling that accelerate model iteration and rollout.
• We contribute to architecture discussions and technical decisions within the team.
• We mentor junior engineers on implementation, experimentation, and machine learning best practices.
