Business Development Manager
Image Sensing Systems
About Image Sensing Systems:
At Image Sensing Systems, we develop intelligent solutions that help transportation agencies better understand and manage what’s happening on their roadways. By turning complex traffic data into clear, actionable insights, our technology supports safer intersections, smoother travel, and more responsive infrastructure. By connecting hardware, software, and data, we help communities create safer, more efficient ways for people to travel every day.
We’re a team that values practical innovation, curiosity, and impact. Our people turn complex, real-world transportation challenges into solutions that help communities operate more safely and efficiently. If you are motivated by building relationships, creating new opportunities, and applying technology where it matters, you will find both challenge and purpose here.
Role Overview:
As Business Development Manager, you will expand adoption of Autoscope Analytics by building trusted relationships with transportation consulting firms and helping them integrate our capabilities into their project workflows. You will identify where behavioral traffic data and video analytics can strengthen client work, support early proposals and studies, and help consultant teams become confident, autonomous users of the platform. You're joining at a point where this type of data is changing what's possible in transportation consulting, and you'll have meaningful influence over how that market develops.
Logistics:
- Location: Near a metropolitan area in Minnesota, North Carolina, or Texas
- Work Mode: Remote
What You Will Do:
- Build Consultant Partnerships: Develop trusted relationships with practice leaders, project managers, engineers, planners, and safety professionals across priority consulting firms.
- Enable Consultant Teams: Help new consultant users understand how to apply Autoscope Analytics within their workflows, including early project setup, interpretation of outputs, and development of client-facing deliverables.
- Support Early Opportunities: Work alongside consultants on initial proposals, scopes, and studies to help them successfully apply the capability in real client work.
- Drive Toward Autonomy: Transition consultant teams from assisted use to independent, repeatable use of Autoscope Analytics.
- Expand Strategic Accounts: Grow usage within successful firms by identifying additional offices, practices, projects, and applications.
- Identify Capability Extensions: Surface recurring consultant needs and adjacent use cases that could inform future extensions of current Autoscope Analytics capabilities.
- Own the Sales Workflow: Manage opportunities from outreach and discovery through scoping, contracting, and handoff while maintaining an accurate CRM pipeline and forecast.
- Strategic Account Planning: Develop account plans for priority consulting firms and build relationships across multiple offices and practice areas.
- Industry Representation: Represent the company at transportation conferences, professional associations, client meetings, webinars, and industry events.
- Use Data to Drive Growth: Apply project, funding, procurement, market, and performance data to prioritize accounts and continuously improve results.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Industry Relationships: Established relationships and credibility within the transportation consulting community, with a track record of building trusted professional relationships across firms and industry organizations.
- Consulting Workflow Expertise: Deep understanding of how transportation consultants develop scopes, collect and analyze data, develop recommendations, prepare proposals and deliver work to public-agency clients.
- Consultant-Led Sales: Experience selling technical services through consultants to public-sector transportation agencies.
- Market Development: Entrepreneurial drive and a demonstrated ability to establish new relationships, develop internal champions, and convert opportunities into revenue.
- Communication & Proposal Skills: Strong discovery, presentation, relationship-management, and writing skills, including experience contributing to proposals and scope of work.
- Transportation Analytics Knowledge: Familiarity with video analytics, traffic data collection, behavioral safety analysis, or related transportation technologies.
- Data & Technology Orientation: Ability to use CRM (e.g., Salesforce), market intelligence, project data, and technology to prioritize work and communicate the value of analytics.
- Experience: 10+ years in transportation engineering, planning, infrastructure consulting, technical sales, or a closely related field.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering, transportation planning, business administration, marketing, or a related field.
What Success Looks Like:
- Gain access to priority transportation consulting firms and decision-makers.
- Establish Autoscope Analytics as a trusted resource for consultants.
- Create a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Get Autoscope Analytics written into project scopes and proposals.
- Convert opportunities into contracted, profitable studies.
- Develop repeat business across multiple offices, practices, and projects.
- Maintain an accurate, disciplined, and measurable sales process.
- Build lasting consultant relationships that generate sustainable market growth.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to work comfortably in a typical office environment and travel regularly to consulting-firm offices, client sites, and industry events. Some minor lifting may be required.
