The shift runs from 07:00 to 19:00. The position is for a duration of 6 weeks, with guaranteed hours of 48 per week. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 1 year of experience. Required certifications include TNCC, ACLS, PALS, BLS, and NIHSS. Candidates must be comfortable with handling commonly seen emergency department chief complaints, as well as trauma patient care. Procedures you will perform include IV insertion, Foley catheter insertion, and NG tube insertion. You will assist providers with various emergency department procedures that are common in this setting. You will work in a unit with 11 beds, and patient ratios will be based on acuity, which may be 1:4 or 1:6. You will be responsible for running point of care labs, setting up and adjusting respiratory equipment for patients, with remote assistance available when needed. The unit is equipped with cardiac/vital sign monitors in all patient rooms and has the necessary supplies and equipment for patient care. Documentation will be completed using the Meditech system. You will be required to work every other weekend and may have the possibility of floating to other areas. Patient experience requirements include AIDET, narration of care, and SBAR for departmental communications. The unit is newly built with all new equipment, providing opportunities to learn and stretch skills, especially in running bipap and ventilator equipment. A fully staffed team is in the process of being built, making this an exciting time to join.
