And so much more.​   ​Come break through with us.  Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.Role PurposeThis position is responsible for customer and technical engagement to named key accounts for Corning’s Photonics Connectivity Solutions businessKey ResponsibilitiesDevelop deep understanding of Corning’s optical communications products, including critical product specifications, manufacturing processes, and customer integration and use casesSupport on-site field trials and customer product evaluationsPerform training, troubleshooting and field support as needed to ensure successful customer adoption of Corning productsComplete on-site investigations of potential product issues raised by customersProvide front-line support for customer inquiries related to a broad portfolio of existing products. Evaluate new inquiries against existing capabilities, coordinating with engineering and development resources as neededProvide commercial and technical support to the customer in response to product or process change requests, quality issues, and operational escalations in a timely mannerWork collaboratively with global customer account and business/regional leaders to develop relationships within customer’s engineering, development, and operations organizations, as well as collect market intelligence to understand competitive landscape, customer technology roadmaps and customer growth opportunitiesAnalyze and articulate product performance including reliability, yields, risk assessments to improve business performance. Requires leading efforts to develop new methodologies, collect and interpret data, and report out to internal and external stakeholdersRequired Education & ExperiencesBachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering or Applied ScienceMaster’s degree (MS) in Engineering, preferred5 years minimum of relevant work experience with optical fiber/ optical components and data center connectivityCustomer engagement experiences at Architecture, Engineering and Lab Technician levels within data center and Enterprise environmentUnderstanding of data center network topologiesPractical understanding of high-density rack connectivityTechnical writing ability, with emphasis on effective presentation of detailed conceptsAbility to coordinate effectively within internal matrix functionsStrong presentation and consultative skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas to a given audienceDesire to “roll up sleeves” to work directly with customers and internal project teamsProcess oriented with a systematic approach to problem solvingAbility to work independently in a stressful environmentThis position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $126,916.00 - $174,510.00 assuming full time status.
