Bookkeeper
Sparks Group has teamed with several prominent and successful companies in the Metro DC area to identify bookkeepers for contract, contract-to-hire and direct hire opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Balance and maintain accurate ledgers by reconciling entries
- Coordinate bank deposits and report financial results on a regular basis to management
- Monitor office expenses; tally and enter cash receipts
- Pay vendor invoices and track bank account balances
- Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements and balance sheets
- Prepare quarterly and monthly tax returns along with payroll, operating and business taxes
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account info and trends
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Background Profile:
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years of bookkeeping experience; 6+ years of experience in lieu of a degree may be acceptable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite specifically advanced Excel and other large ERP systems
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Accurate, detail-oriented and well-organized
