Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) nurse position located in the region, providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. The role involves working night shifts, with opportunities to float to various UCSF facilities as needed. The position requires a commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence, and adherence to hospital protocols.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), 2 years of emergency department (ED) experience, BSN degree required, prior travel experience within 12 months preferred, ability to float to other UCSF facilities.
• Preferred Qualifications: Clinical experience in trauma levels I and II, Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) certifications, CCN (Certified Critical Nurse) or equivalent, Epic electronic charting system experience, previous teaching hospital experience.
• Additional Information: Must have prior charge experience and patient ratios experience of at least 4. Clinical skills include arterial line management, trauma care, airway management, medication administration, cardiac monitoring, intubation, and trauma procedures. Candidates should be comfortable managing various emergency scenarios including stroke, cardiac issues, trauma, psychiatric conditions, and pediatric emergencies.
• Community & Unit Details: Daily census of 60 patients; 15 rooms, 17 beds. Support services include respiratory, interpretation, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and transportation. The ER handles patients across all age groups, including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
• Travel & Certification: Ability to float within a 75+ mile radius. Valid COVID-19 vaccination and booster proof required prior to start, with documentation attached at submission. All RN positions require BSN.
