Top-Ranked Philadelphia Firm Seeking Land Use and Zoning Associate Attorney for Land Use, Zoning, and Development Matters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

A prominent regional firm with one of the most active and respected land use and zoning practices in the area is seeking a Land Use and Zoning Associate Attorney with 2+ years of experience to support its rapidly growing suburban Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley, and Central Pennsylvania practice. This in-office position sits within the firm's Real Estate and Finance Department and offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of land entitlement and development matters for a diverse client base. The Land Use and Zoning Associate Attorney will represent property owners, developers, tenants, and municipalities across all phases of the land use and development process, from permit applications through board appearances and, where applicable, appellate proceedings.

Qualifications

• J.D. or equivalent degree from a well-respected U.S. law school
• Active admission to the Pennsylvania Bar
• 2+ years of experience in zoning and land use law
• Experience representing property owners, developers, tenants, and/or municipalities in land entitlement and development matters
• Familiarity with the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (MPC)
• Appellate experience a plus
• Excellent writing and analytical skills
• Proactive, self-starting work style with strong attention to accuracy and detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to respond productively to direction and feedback
• Ability to manage workflow priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
• Collaborative team player with a spirit of camaraderie

Responsibilities

• Represent property owners, developers, tenants, and municipalities in land entitlement and development proceedings
• Prepare and file zoning and use permit applications
• Review and interpret zoning ordinances, plans, and related land use regulations
• Appear before zoning boards, planning boards, and community organizations
• Handle appellate matters arising from land use and zoning decisions where applicable
