Business Development / Sales Manager - Medical Device

Territory Sales Plan Development
Develop a territory specific sales plan to identify and close new thermoplastic and contract manufacturing business with existing and prospective customers in the Medical Device, Diagnostics and Pharmaceutical Drug Delivery market. This plan should target growth of company operations.
Consult with business development leadership, corporate management and plant personnel on a regular basis to ensure sales activity is congruent with company objectives.
Customer travel schedule and site visitation policy permitting, this is to include a minimum of one (1) customer or prospect visit per week.
Provide Account Management support for assigned local customers and assist with global customers as needed:
On-site commercial support during customer site visits.
Monitoring monthly commercial metrics with a focus on improving profitability; take a leadership role in addressing all material price changes, low profit performers and payment aging issues.
Prepare annual customer forecasts, review monthly and provide adjustments as required.
Take leadership role in developing comprehensive commercial proposals:
Prepare and Manage the Quotation Review (QR) process for any new Business Opportunities you have obtained.
Provide assistance to the site and central estimating in developing costing and pricing model.
Prepare customer proposals for approval.
Support company trade show activity, advertising and promotional efforts.
Complete required weekly and monthly reporting, forecast preparation and account receivable collection on a timely basis.
Organize customer events and entertainment as necessary.
Maintain prospective and existing customer’s contact list and open opportunities on CRM software (Salesforce).
Coordinate content development with Marketing in support of your territory sales plan.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required plus a minimum of 3 years of successful Business Development and/or Technical experience in the Plastics, Custom Injection Molding and/or Contract Manufacturing market.
Strong analytical skills with pricing experience.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a successful strategic sales plan and to close new business year-over year.
Hands-on account management skills with the ability to effectively plan, organize, and manage resources to meet aggressive goals and objectives.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and appropriately judge when and where resources should be used, negotiate for resources and timing with internal and external stakeholders, and satisfy multiple, often competing and shifting, priorities.
Strong leadership and team-building skills with the proven ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally with customers, executives, peers, vendors and team members.
Persuasive communicator with excellent written and verbal presentation skills. Professional appearance, oral and written communication delivery, behavior and attitude that is consistent with customer expectations and reflects the integrity, beliefs and principles of the company.
Proficient in CRM Applications and Microsoft Office. Advanced Excel and Salesforce experience a plus.
Able to travel up to 75% of the time with frequent overnight travel expected.
A candidate with the above qualifications will become successful as measured by closing new business in this position in 6-12 months.
