Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report.Job Summary:The University Relations Recruiter develops and executes strategies to attract, engage, and hire early-career talent across Bechtel's global business lines. The role manages full-cycle recruiting for interns, university graduates, and entry-level hires; advises business and HR partners on workforce needs; and builds university and professional-association partnerships that strengthen talent pipelines and Bechtel's employer brand.The successful candidate uses recruiting data, market insights, relationship management, and project management skills to improve hiring outcomes in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. Domestic travel to universities, career fairs, conferences, and recruiting events is required.Major Responsibilities:Develop and execute university recruiting strategies for internship, university graduate, and entry-level hiring across business functions, projects, and locations.Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including workforce planning, requisition strategy, sourcing, screening, assessment, interview coordination, offer management, and onboarding support.Consult with hiring managers, Human Resources partners, and business leaders to identify talent needs, share market insights, and recommend recruiting approaches aligned with business objectives.Build diverse talent pipelines through university partnerships, student and professional organizations, employee referrals, CRM campaigns, campus engagement, and proactive sourcing.Plan and execute career fairs, university events, information sessions, networking activities, and national conferences; represent Bechtel as an employer of choice across in-person and digital channels.Evaluate candidates through resume review, interviews, assessments, and behavioral screening; provide recommendations and facilitate timely selection and offer decisions.Analyze recruiting metrics, event outcomes, pipeline health, and labor-market trends; use applicant tracking, CRM, and reporting tools to maintain data integrity, monitor performance, and identify improvement opportunities.Collaborate across business units, HR functions, and regions to deliver a consistent, scalable university recruiting program and support strategic diversity recruiting partnerships.Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in human resources management, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, Marketing, or a related field and 2-5 years of relevant recruiting, talent acquisition, university relations, campus recruiting, or talent management experience. In lieu of a degree, 6-9 years of relevant work experience is required.Ability and willingness to travel domestically to universities, career fairs, conferences, customer locations, and project sites as required.Must have the right to work and remain in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check requirements.Required Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of university recruiting practices, campus engagement strategies, internship programs, and early-career talent pipelines.Strong relationship management and consulting skills with hiring managers, HR partners, universities, student organizations, candidates, and external talent communities.Strong interviewing, candidate assessment, and selection skills, including evaluation against technical and behavioral requirements.Project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, events, and recruiting initiatives simultaneously.Experience using applicant tracking systems, candidate relationship management platforms, Microsoft 365 applications, reporting tools, and recruiting technologies.Analytical skills and experience using recruiting metrics and market data to support decisions, assess outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and collaborate across functions, business units, and regions.Preferred Qualifications:Experience recruiting in engineering, construction, EPC, energy, infrastructure, mining, manufacturing, or another project-based environment, including technical and corporate functions.Experience supporting national diversity recruiting initiatives and organizations such as SHPE, NSBE, SWE, AISES, oSTEM, NBMBAA, or similar associations.Experience using CRM platforms such as Handshake, Phenom, or similar tools.Experience leading university recruiting strategies across multiple business units, regions, or talent segments and presenting recruiting metrics and recommendations to leadership.Total Rewards/Benefits:For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
